Oh, iPhone, how I love thee...
I've never been much of a cell phone person. The majority of mine have been hand me downs from my hubby. When the iPhones were selling for $99, I took the plunge. I soon realized that the iPhone is not just a phone, it's a portal into the future. Only the future is now. I went from a cell phone that had the amazing capability of taking really crappy photos to a phone that, well, can do just about anything except give you a hug when you really need one. I think they are working on that app.
One of my favorite apps is the Epicurious for iPhone one. First of all, it's free! When you log on you have a list of titles to choose from such as "Weeknight Dinners", "Dinner Party Ideas", "I Can Barely Cook", "Dishes Kids Love". Each title will link you to a huge collection of recipes. Most are from Gourmet and Bon Appetit magazines. You then use your finger to swipe the screen to flip through all the recipes. Once you find one you like, it gives you the ingredients and step by step instructions. You can also search recipes by keywords and save them to your "favorites". The icing on the cake is the shopping list it can create for you to take to the grocery store. No more paper lists that get lost in your cavernous handbag. Now if they could just come up with something to put all the groceries away for us!
